Estate-grown and partly (33 per cent) hand-picked in the lower Awatere Valley, the 2021 vintage (4.5*) was fermented in tanks (mostly) and a mix of clay amphorae, concrete eggs and oak barrels. Bright, light lemon/green, it is a distinctive wine, medium to full-bodied, with very good intensity of vigorous, ripely herbaceous flavours, fresh acidity, considerable complexity and a crisp, dry finish.
