From the company's elevated (180 metres above sea level), north-facing vineyard in Hawke's Bay, the 2020 vintage (4*) was hand-picked and matured for a year in French oak barrels. Ruby hued, with a hint of development, it is savoury, with fresh, vigorous cherry, plum and spice flavours, oak complexity and finely balanced tannins. Restrained in its youth, it's well worth cellaring to mid-2023+.
