Lovely now, the 2018 vintage (5*) was grown in the Brancott Valley and at Renwick, hand-picked when the berries were shrivelled by botrytis ('noble rot') , and partly (50 per cent) fermented and matured for a year in old barrels. Golden, with a richly honeyed bouquet, it is weighty and fleshy, with lush, peachy, complex flavours, abundant sweetness (130 grams/litre of residual sugar), balanced acidity and a slightly oily richness. Benchmark stuff.
