Giesen Pure Light Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (2021)

Crafted as a 'low alcohol' style (9 per cent by volume), the 2021 vintage (2*) was made from grapes harvested early in the Wairau Valley, then stop-fermented with a splash of sweetness (9.2 grams/litre of residual sugar). Pale lemon/green, with fresh, green-edged aromas, it is light in body, with crisp, appley flavours, but lacks the rich, ripe-fruit characters of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc at its best.
