Grown in the Calvert Vineyard at Bannockburn – 1 kilometre east of the winery – matured in French oak barriques (30 per cent new in 2020), and bottled unfined and unfiltered, the 2020 vintage (5*) has obvious cellaring potential. Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling, sweet-fruited and savoury, with concentrated, vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, oak complexity, and a well-structured, long finish. Best drinking 2024+.
