Felton Road Block 1 Central Otago Riesling (2021)

Estate-grown in The Elms Vineyard, from mature vines on a 'steeper slope' which yields 'riper fruit' without noble rot, this Bannockburn wine is made in a style 'similar to a late-harvest, Mosel spätlese'. The 2021 vintage (5*) is a very Mosel-like wine. Bright, light lemon/green, it is scented and light-bodied, with strong, lemony, slightly appley flavours, gentle sweetness (67 grams/litre of residual sugar), appetising acidity, and lovely delicacy, vigour, harmony and length. Full of drink-young charm, it should also be long-lived.
