Esk Valley Hawke's Bay Rosé (2021)

For many years, this was New Zealand’s most successful rosé on the show circuit. From relatively cool, inland sites, the 2021 vintage (4.5*) is a Merlot-based wine with a bright pink hue. Fragrant, it has fresh, very generous peach, strawberry and spice flavours, a hint of apricot, and an almost imperceptible sliver of sweetness (3.9 grams/litre of residual sugar), balanced by appetising acidity.
