Esk Valley Hawke's Bay Pinot Gris (2021)

The good value 2021 vintage (4.5*) was harvested at inland sites from vines nearing 20 years old and mostly handled in tanks; 5 per cent of the blend was barrel fermented. Lemon-hued, it is mouthfilling and vibrantly fruity, with strong, ripe stonefruit flavours, showing a distinct touch of complexity, finely balanced acidity and a dryish (7.2 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Best drinking 2023+.
