Bargain-priced, the 2021 vintage (4*) was mostly (63 per cent) grown in the Awatere Valley, but also in the Waihopai Valley (32 per cent) and at Kekerengu (5 per cent). A good 'all-purpose' wine, it is freshly aromatic, with citrusy, spicy flavours, strong and lively, finely balanced acidity and a dry (2.3 grams/litre of residual sugar), lingering finish. Drink now onwards. (From Astrolabe.)
