The 2019 vintage (4.5*) was matured for 18 months in French oak hogsheads (20 per cent), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Three points to note: the 2019 vintage was released before the 2018; Dry River's Syrah vines have been removed, as many were dying; the last vintage will be 2020. Dark and purple-flushed, it is fresh and vibrantly fruity, with plum and spice flavours, fresh acidity, notable concentration, but also a slight lack of optimal ripeness and warmth. Still very youthful, it's well worth cellaring.
