Estate-grown on Waiheke Island, the deeply coloured 2019 vintage (4.5*) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (43 per cent), Merlot (39 per cent), Malbec (9 per cent), Cabernet Franc (6 per cent) and Petit Verdot (3 per cent). Matured for a year in French (55 per cent) and American (45 per cent) oak casks, it has a fragrant, fresh, slightly herbal bouquet. Mouthfilling, it is a vigorous, youthful red, with concentrated blackcurrant, herb and nutty oak flavours, good complexity and a well-structured, long finish. Refined, elegant and harmonious, it's well worth cellaring.
