Hawke's Bay winemaker Peter Robertson says the shingly Ohiti Estate, inland from Fernhill, yields 'sound Cabernet Sauvignon year after year – which is a major challenge to any vineyard'. The highly attractive 2019 vintage (4.5*) was matured for a year in French and American oak barrels. Deeply coloured, it is fragrant, mouthfilling, vibrantly fruity and supple, with strong, ripe blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, finely balanced tannins, and lots of drink-young appeal. Best drinking 2023+. Great value.
