Blackenbrook Vineyard Nelson Gewürztraminer (2021)

A consistently attractive wine. Estate-grown and hand-picked, the very youthful 2021 vintage (4.5*) was mostly handled in tanks, but 5 per cent of the blend was matured in old oak barrels. Pale and full-bodied, it is a subtle, very ageworthy wine, with peach, pear and spice flavours, revealing excellent freshness, delicacy and vigour, and a dryish (5 grams/litre of residual sugar), lingering finish. Best drinking 2023+.
