Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Noir (2019)

Still unfolding, the youthful 2019 vintage (4.5*) is a regional blend, grown in the Southern Valleys (55 per cent), Awatere Valley (32 per cent), and at Kekerengu (13 per cent). Hand-picked and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques, it is deep ruby, with concentrated, vigorous plum, berry and spice flavours, showing good complexity, and a lengthy, moderately firm finish. Full of cellaring potential, it should be at its best 2024+.
