7th Heaven Central Otago Pinot Noir (2018)

Grown and hand-harvested at Adams Gully, south of Bannockburn, this consistently attractive red is made in a 'fruit-driven' style – about 30 per cent of the blend is matured in oak barrels (15 per cent new). Still fairly youthful, the 2018 vintage (4*) is full-coloured, with ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing considerable complexity, fresh acidity, supple tannins, and very good depth and harmony. The 2017 vintage (4*) is still fresh and vigorous. Medium to full-bodied, it is vibrantly fruity, with lively acidity and strong cherry, plum, herb and spice flavours. Drinking well now, the 2016 vintage (4*) has generous, vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, with savoury notes adding complexity, fresh acidity and a smooth finish.
