Review:
Certified organic, the 2017 vintage (5*) was estate-grown at Bannockburn, hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques (33 per cent new). Deep, bright ruby, it is an attractively perfumed, savoury, medium to full-bodied red, with ripe, plummy, distinctly spicy flavours, earthy, nutty notes adding complexity, fresh acidity, and a long, tightly structured finish. Still youthful, it’s well worth cellaring to 2022+.
