Review:
The impressive 2019 vintage (5*) is a rare wine – only three barrels were made. From vines planted in Mere Road in 1992, it was hand-picked, fermented and matured for 10 months in French oak casks (35 per cent new), and given a full, softening malolactic fermentation. Bright, light lemon/green, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with concentrated, ripe stone-fruit flavours, showing excellent complexity, a slightly creamy texture, and a rich, harmonious finish. Already delicious, it should be at its best 2022+.
