Review:
Finesse is the keynote quality of this organically certified Marlborough wine. Estate-grown in the Raupo Creek Vineyard, in the Omaka Valley, the 2016 vintage (5*) was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and lees-aged for 11 months in French oak barriques (15 per cent new), then blended and matured for a further six months in old French oak puncheons. Weighty and complex, it’s a powerful wine, with deep, still youthful, citrusy, peachy flavours, and a very harmonious finish. Drink now or cellar.
