Review:
Estate-grown on an east-facing slope at Waikari, in North Canterbury, the 2018 vintage (5*) is a powerful (14.5 per cent alcohol), very youthful wine, with obvious potential. Light gold, it is sturdy, with concentrated, ripe stone-fruit flavours, gently seasoned with oak, steely acidity, and highly impressive intensity, structure and complexity. Best drinking 2023+.
