Pegasus Bay North Canterbury Pinot Noir

Review:

This is one of North Canterbury’s greatest Pinot Noirs, typically very rich in body and flavour. Many of the vines are over 25 years old and the wine is matured for 18 to 22 months in French oak barriques (about 40 per cent new). The 2017 vintage (5*) is full-coloured and finely perfumed. Mouthfilling, sweet-fruited, savoury and supple, it is still youthful, with concentrated, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, oak complexity, and a rich, smooth finish. Best drinking 2022+.
