Mount Edward Central Otago Pinot Noir

Review:

Certified organic, the 2017 vintage (5*) of this regional blend was fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for 11 months in French oak casks (15 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deeply coloured, it is attractively scented, mouthfilling and supple, with concentrated cherry, plum, spice and herb flavours, smooth and sustained. The 2018 vintage (5*) was matured for 10-11 months in French oak casks (18 per cent new), then aged in tanks before bottling. Certified organic, it is mouthfilling, sweet-fruited and savoury, with strong cherry, plum and spice flavours, seasoned with nutty oak, excellent complexity and a very harmonious finish. Already delicious, it should be at its best 2022+.
