Review:
Named in honour of nineteenth-century winemaker Cyprian Huchet, the lovely 2019 vintage (5*) was estate-grown in the Gimblett Gravels and matured for a year in French oak barrels. Dark, with a highly fragrant, spicy bouquet, it is full-bodied, with dense blackcurrant, plum and black pepper flavours, complex, savoury and finely poised. A standout red, it is extremely age-worthy; best drinking 2025+.
