Review:
An extroverted, ‘full-on’ style, the golden 2018 vintage (5*) was harvested from vines planted in 2013 in the Tietjen Vineyard and fermented and lees-aged for nine months in American and Hungarian oak barriques (30 per cent new). A highly distinctive wine with a fragrant, complex bouquet, it is powerful and lush, with notably concentrated, ripe, peachy, mealy, toasty flavours, finely balanced acidity, and a lasting finish. Already a memorable mouthful, it’s a drink-now or cellaring proposition.
