Hans Herzog Marlborough Montepulciano

Review:

This classy, estate-grown red is typically overflowing with sweet-fruit flavours. The 2015 vintage (4.5*) was hand-picked on the north side of the Wairau Valley, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for two and a half years in French oak barriques (partly new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Fragrant, with deep, youthful colour, it is mouthfilling, with fresh, youthful plum and spice flavours, showing excellent depth, refined tannins, and obvious potential; best drinking 2022+.
