Review:
Grown in the central Wairau Valley and the Southern Valleys, the 2019 vintage (5*) was handled principally in tanks (a small percentage was fermented with indigenous yeasts in old oak casks). Fleshy, sweet-fruited and rounded, with generous, ripe tropical-fruit flavours, showing a distinct touch of complexity, and a dry, long finish, it’s already very open and expressive. Bright, light lemon/green, the youthful 2020 vintage (5*) is a very elegant, mouthfilling wine, with vigorous, tropical-fruit flavours, a herbaceous undercurrent, a distinct touch of complexity, and a crisp, long finish. Best drinking mid-2021+.
