Review:
Grown at elevated sites in the Southern Valleys, hand-harvested and matured in French oak barriques (partly new), the 2017 vintage (5*) is deeply coloured, with a fragrant, savoury bouquet. Full-bodied, it is powerful, with very deep cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity, and a finely structured, long finish. Best drinking 2022+. The 2018 vintage (4.5*) is highly fragrant, with a savoury, spicy, slightly herbal bouquet. Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling, with deep, youthful plum and spice flavours, nutty and savoury notes adding complexity, fresh acidity, and a moderately firm finish. Best drinking 2022+.
