Review:
Estate-grown at altitude (320 metres above sea level) in the China Terrace Vineyard, at Bendigo, the graceful 2019 vintage (5*) was hand-picked and matured for 10 months in French oak casks (33 per cent new). Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling, rich and sweet-fruited, with highly concentrated, very youthful cherry, plum and spice flavours, excellent complexity, and ripe, supple tannins. A lovely young red, it’s well worth cellaring to 2023+.
