Review:
The bold 2018 vintage (5*) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (38 per cent), Merlot (28 per cent), Malbec (19 per cent) and Cabernet Franc (15 per cent). Hand-harvested and matured for 16 months in French oak barriques (45 per cent new), it is deeply coloured, with a fragrant, slightly spicy bouquet. Weighty, it has concentrated, vibrant blackcurrant, plum, red-berry, spice and nutty oak flavours, with good tannin backbone. Still very youthful, but highly expressive in its youth, it’s well worth cellaring to 2023+.
