Deutz Marlborough Cuvée Blanc de Blancs

Review:

New Zealand’s most awarded bubbly on the show circuit. This Chardonnay-predominant blend is hand-harvested on the south side of the Wairau Valley, at Renwick Estate and in the Brancott Vineyard, and matured for up to three years on its yeast lees. It is typically a very classy wine with delicate, piercing, lemony, appley flavours, well-integrated yeastiness, and a slightly creamy finish. The 2015 vintage (5*) is a light lemon/green, vivacious wine with a scented, lemony, yeasty bouquet. It has fresh, citrusy, yeasty flavours, showing excellent intensity, delicacy and complexity, that build across the palate to a dryish, lasting finish.
